Terms & Conditions for Workshops

Please read carefully before completing your enrollment and payment.


WELLS STREET STUDIO reserves the right to amend any workshop or schedule. In these circumstances, all effort will made to provide a replacement of equal cost and standing. Should a class have to be cancelled due to insufficient enrollments, any student enrolled in that class will be contacted and an alternative class, credit or refund arranged.


The following policy relates to term courses, holiday workshops and one day workshops for all ages.


Payments are non-refundable, unless negotiated for an extended illness.We do not provide refunds for cancellations, withdrawals, missed workshops. Once a workshop has commenced there are no refunds, transfers or credits.

Missed classes

There are no transfers, credit, refunds or make up sessions if you miss a class or if your personal circumstances change.

Cancellations or withdrawals

If you choose to withdraw from a course or workshop up to 14 days before its commencement, you will be charged a $50 administration fee. You may transfer the remaining value (workshop fee, less administration fee) to another class or student, to be used within 12 months of the date payment was received.

Cancellations advised by phone or by email once our school holiday program has commenced (the beginning of the school holiday) and up to 3 business days before the workshop date incur a $20 fee per cancellation. The remaining workshop fee will be held in credit and this must be used within 6 months. You may substitute a friend (or sibling) to attend the same class you booked for your child at no cost. Please let us know of any substitutions the day before the class commences.

You will not receive any credit if you cancel a workshop, 1 business day before workshop or on the day of the workshop. Class transfers

If you need to transfer a holiday booking to a different holiday class within the same holiday period, you can do this at no charge IF you make the arrangements before the commencement of our school holiday program and only if there are spaces available. Transfers of bookings made after the school holiday period has commenced and UP TO 48 hours before the workshop date will incur a fee of $20. You may substitute a friend (or sibling) to attend the same class you booked for your child at no cost. Please let us know of any substitutions the day before the class commences.


Workshop fees are listed with the course details on the website. Payment of the full class fee via online credit card payment is required at the time of enrollment to secure your place.
If you do not wish to enrol via the web, you may enrol by direct deposits into our bank account. Fees are inclusive of GST and receipts will be provided on receipt of payment.


Unfortunately discounts are not able to be offered at this time.


‘Purchased’ gift certificates are valid 12 months from the date of purchase or until the date listed on the certificate. Our Cancellation and Refund policy applies to ‘Purchased’ gift certificates used to pay for workshops.

All materials are provided for the workshops, unless specified. If particular materials are required they must be purchased at cost to the student. At certain times workshops may require an additional material fee to be paid or for students to supply their own clay. In this circumstance, information will be noted in the class description. Material fees may be discussed if students already own materials required for the workshop.


Firings are included in the workshop costings within reason. Students are provided with clay to work with, works committed to firing in our kiln is capped at 5kg of finished work per student - this is included in the course fee. Students can make and fire work that is over this limit, however there is an additional charge of $15/kg for any work made that is over the scheduled 3kg. Wells Street Studio reserves the right to refuse to fire excessive work, poorly made or work glazed incorrectly, or work that is made or glazed in a way that may damage the kiln. If a students work damages the kiln excessively through negligence, costs of repairs will be the students responsibility.


Wells Street Studio is not a Registered Training Organisation and as such, workshops are not accredited. A Certificate of Attendance or reference can be provided upon request.


At times photographs maybe taken during class of students and artworks. If photographs of students are to be used, approval will be sought. As a Condition of Enrollment your consent to take photographs is implied. Should you not wish for us to take and use photos of you, your child or your artwork please notify us at the time of enrollment via the registration form.


Wells Street Studio is a small space attached to a backyard and my home. It is expected that students will respect this property. Discrimination on the grounds of a person’s age, race sex, gender, sexuality, marital status, physical or intellectual disability, or religion will not be tolerated. Children deemed to be exhibiting inappropriate or disruptive behaviour may be removed, suspended or expelled from the workshop. It should also be noted that cleaning of the studio at the end of a workshop and common areas is a shared responsibility.


Out of respect for other students, students are requested to be punctual for class. Children should be escorted to and from the workshops by a parent or guardian, signed in on arrival and out upon collection promptly at the end of class. School Holiday Workshops end at 4:30pm, should a child not be collected 15 minutes after completion time, the parent will be called. If there is no response, an emergency person will be contacted.


If you have an existing medical condition, allergy or disability that may affect your participation in a class, you should notify Wells Street Studio at the time of enrollment. All measures are taken to ensure the safety of you and or your child for the duration of the workshop.


At this time the access for wheelchairs is not wonderful. There is a side lane in use for all students although the surface is, for now a bumpy one. We apologise for this. Should access be required, please contact us before enrolling to discuss the options.


Contact information you supply to Wells Street Studio will not be disclosed except where required by law. We do not retain any credit card information that you may provide. From time-to-time send mail and email to students and past students for the purpose of marketing may be sent. Should you not wish to receive mailings please notify us that you wish to unsubscribe and you will be removed from our mailing list.
